Snoop Dogg honored Kobe Bryant at the 2020 ESPYs in a way that seemed most comfortable to him, rapping over countless of Bryant’s greatest moments.
The tribute ended with Dogg stating ‘this is your city, much love for the ride’ — a sentiment that echoes out across all of Los Angeles as the world continues to mourn the passing of Bryant, his daughter Gianna Bryant, and seven others.
Although the award show was virtual due to the pandemic, Bryant’s presence was still sorely missed as Dogg was not the only person to deliver a tribute to him.
With the ESPYs also falling on Father’s Day, Pau Gasol spoke about how much Bryant loved his children and the amount of passion he poured into fatherhood.
On Aug. 29, Bryant will be inducted into the 2020 Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame due to the impact he not only had on the sport but the world itself.
Bryant’s legacy will now be carried on in the fact that his ‘Mamba Mentality’ has been firmly entrenched in the hearts of millions of people all around the world.
