Although there has always been a buzz around LeBron James throughout his career, it has grown even more since he signed with the Los Angeles Lakers.
The pairing of one of the greatest players of all time and one of the greatest franchises of all time has resulted in a rather eventful first quarter of the 2018-19 NBA season. With plenty of games left in James’ first season in Los Angeles, it is likely there will be more headlines, more drama, and more rumors to come.
There are players who like to avoid all of the controversial headlines, but James has embraced all of the noise that has surrounded him. Some might even say that he thrives with all the drama and attention.
James did not hold back on any of the topics that Year 1 with the Lakers has provided thus far, according to Rachel Nichols of ESPN:
The 33-year-old has caused a bit of noise when he sounded off about loving the idea of playing with Anthony Davis. This drew attention from around the league and many small-market general managers reportedly pleaded for repercussions.
He also spoke on the comments that Kevin Durant recently made and revealed they spoke about it over the phone. Though words can sometimes be twisted, it is no surprise that James took offense to being mentioned in the same sentence as the word ‘toxic.’
Despite all of the noise, the Lakers have continued to improve since their 0-3 start to the season. After two consecutive losses to the Sacramento Kings and Los Angeles Lakers, they will look to get back to their winning ways to close 2018 when they play the Kings again.
